An instructors academic history is only one aspect of their qualification to instruct a specific course of instruction. While I am proud of my accomplishments, I am more focused on insuring that each student is comfortable with learning the very serious nature of the required course of instruction.  I will spend whatever time is needed to see that every student is competent and trained to state standards. As a certified Law Enforcement Handgun/Shotgun Instructor I hold the highest rating specified as being approved to teach these courses.  There are only a handful of such trainers statewide teaching citizens.  Most instructors hold only the bare minimum rating and most have never been involved in a Lethal Force encounter.  I have and can teach you to safely and tactically deploy a firearm for self or family protection.  This course is only a baseline platform from which to start your firearm education or if already knowledgeable, to extend it.  It is however the course that will be looked at should you ever get involved in a Lethal Force encounter as a permit holder.  My lesson plan exceeds the state requirements and I have never had it rejected by a Sheriffs department.  Are there cheaper classes out there?  Yes, look at their Credentials page, when you don't see it you know why it is a cheaper class.  If they have certifications are they current?  To stay current an instructor has to attend training himself.  Instructor training is expensive, in the area of $3000 per year if you hold multiple certifications as I do.  Do they offer a 100% money back guarantee for ANY reason, even after a full day of class as I do?  I don't compete with these classes, people who are searching for the cheapest class they can find are not my target audience, those who are searching for the best class experience are!  MY students are those that when they have defended their families don't cower from the media--they simply tell them they are Sheepdogs, they stood in the breach and did their duty.  The media won't understand, but my students WILL and those you saved Will!
